Hello Linux Geeksters. As you may know, Subsurface is a diving log application, written by Linus Torvalds himself. The latest version available is Subsurface 4.3, which has been recently released, coming with a lot of changes. For information about this release, see the official announcement.
In this article I will show you how to install Subsurface 4.3 on Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn, Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr, Linux Mint 17.1 Rebecca, Linux Mint 17 Qiana, Pinguy OS 14.04, Elementary OS 0.3 Freya, Deepin 2014, Peppermint Five, LXLE 14.04, Linux Lite 2.0, Arch Linux, Fedora 20, OpenSUSE 13.2 and OpenSUSE 13.1 systems.
Because it is available via repository or PPA, installing Subsurface 4.3 on the listed Linux systems is easy. Follow the instructions for your system and architecture exactly, in order to get a successful installation.
How to install Subsurface 4.3 on Arch Linux and derivative systems:
$ sudo pacman -Sy yaourt
$ sudo yaourt subsurface
Optional, to remove subsurface, do:
$ sudo yaourt -Rsn subsurface
How to install Subsurface 4.3 on Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and derivative systems:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:subsurface/subsurface
